Lunch on Vesak Day

4 May 2023

On this special occasion of Vesak, we had the opportunity to come together as a team and celebrate the teachings of Buddha over a scrumptious lunch. It was a truly wonderful experience to break bread with colleagues and reflect on the values of compassion, kindness, and mindfulness that are at the heart of this auspicious day.

Employee Birthday 2023

This May, we were fortunate to have not just one, but three team members celebrating their birthdays. As a team, we wanted to make sure they felt appreciated and valued, so we decided to surprise them with a special treat - a delicious cake! We enjoyed some cake together, sharing stories and laughs, and it was a lovely way to break the monotony of our busy workday

Karak Team Building

25-26 February 2023

The team building was fantastic. At night we played some games, chit chat, do karaoke, play billiards and closed our event with a pleasant lunch with all the employees who attended this event. All the employees enjoyed getting to know better each other, especially with the WFH employees.

The benefits of the team-building activity were numerous. Firstly, it helped to break down communication barriers and build trust among employees. Secondly, it encouraged employees to work together more effectively and to leverage each other's strengths to achieve better results. Thirdly, it improved employee morale and reduced stress levels, which in turn led to increased productivity and better outcomes for the company. Team building can help us to discover each other's strengths and weaknesses learned how to communicate effectively, and worked together to solve complex problems.

Overall, the team-building activity was a huge success for us. This activity can help improve communication, collaboration, creativity, morale, and problem-solving skills, ultimately leading to better teamwork and higher productivity. It also helped to create a more cohesive and collaborative work environment, which ultimately led to improved business results. See you guys again at our next events!

Monthly Site Visits - Ipoh

Our remote solution allows our distributed team to work from wherever they want, which is a highly valued perk among GP Asia employees. Our teams are trusted to manage their jobs, and we benefit from lower overhead costs and the ability to hire without the confines of geography.

Our remote team meetups, which we call Monthly Sites Visits, are proving to be crucial supplements to our remote setup, and we're continuously searching for new methods to improve the remote work experience.

While we wouldn't trade our scattered team's benefits, it's difficult to dismiss the importance of face time for team morale and connections. Our site visit to Ipoh the other day demonstrated how valuable our time together is.

Nothing compares to the warmth of a real hug or the satisfaction of watching a smile grow over someone's face. Our remote team meetups require genuine human interaction with the people with whom we spend our days collaborating and working.

It's not that these strategic discussions can't be held remotely. Rather, it's the invigorating effect of dedicated team meetups that encourages us to carve out time for such collaboration in our daily lives.

As such, Monthly Site Visits are our solutions for gaining that interpersonal connection that drives our day-to-day work.

Company Sponsored Trip to Melbourne

We would like to extend our congratulations to our digital marketer, Claire who is being listed in the Dean’s Honour List of Monash University Business School. She has completed her bachelor’s degree with a weighted average mark in the top 2 percentile. GP Asia is proud to sponsor her trip to Australia for her great achievement. Let’s take a look at her experience!

I was overjoyed when I received an email stating that I am listed in the Dean’s Honour List of Monash University Business School, and I have been invited to their 2022 Celebrating Excellence Award in Melbourne. But what’s even more exciting was that my company’s managing director, Alan Yap is willing to sponsor my trip to Australia. YES! You read that right! GP Asia is sponsoring my trip to Melbourne to receive my award and for a holiday too!!! What can be better than that?

Alan has always been a supportive leader who allows me to explore new ideas in work and encourages me to join various training programs to gain additional experience and skills. Not only that, but he always makes sure that all his employees are experiencing work-life balance, be it the work-from-home or the work-from-office teams. One of my best decisions made is to join and be a part of GP Asia family as this company never fails to recognize its employees’ hard work and effort.

This is my first trip to overseas ever since the pandemic started and I am more excited than ever. The weather, scenery, good food and friendliness of Australians are what makes me misses Melbourne. Melbourne's culture is vibrant and alive. It is a city that incites inspiration and it's a melting pot of creativity expressed in its arts, design, fashion, and events.

During the 2022 Celebrating Excellence Awards night, I was able to meet some inspiring leaders and alumni with their forever-learning spirits. It’s never too late to learn and to make an impact so that the world can be a better place to live in. It was a great experience that I will never forget. That pretty much sums up my trip to Melbourne and I am truly grateful for joining a company that actually looks out for its employees.

Buka Puasa Dinner 2022

In Bahasa Malaysia, Hari Raya means "grand day of celebrating," although celebrations have been reduced in recent years due to social-distancing. However,  Raya this year is particularly bright and special, because of the relaxation of Covid-19 limitations that began on May 1st. Our Muslim friends can once again celebrate the significant festival with the company of beloved family and friends, with fewer restrictions.

We were pleased to witness our employees' delight in wearing their finest traditional attire in preparation for our company dinner at the Empire Subang Hotel. We get together, feast, and admire each other's attire while enjoying our GP Asia family's company.
